Brain pacemaker gives relief from dystonia

Thanks to the UF Center for Movement Disorders & Neurorestoration, Austin Streitmatter is living a more normal life.

Brain surgery was done on Austin to add a brain pacemaker that would control involuntary reflexes and movement.  Until the surgery, Austin had to rely on medication to control the movements. Dystonia is a potentially crippling genetic disorder.
