Mission
The University of Florida’s Sesquicentennial celebrates the university’s unique accomplishments and history in expanding and deepening human understanding. As the State of Florida’s flagship, land-grant university, the University of Florida provides for the well being of Florida’s citizens through teaching, research, outreach and economic advancement.

While featuring the university’s diverse and dynamic academic programs and activities, the sesquicentennial underscores the university’s innovative interdisciplinary approaches to the complex issues, problems and opportunities facing society in the 21st Century. In light of the State’s growing national prominence, the University of Florida’s reach and influence extend beyond the State to the nation and the world.
